Like a Frog In Hot Water

À someone were to throw a frog in hot water it would jump out, but if they put it in cold water and gradually heat the water up it would boil to death.

People today are so much like the frog, and a good example would be television. When it first started it was called the golden age, and television programs had morals, and lessons. If they had started television with the programming that is on television now, then no one would have bought a television set. So the started it off as cold water it was nice and made people feel good about watching it. They slowly added heat with witches and magic. Then they introduced adult channels for their eyes only, and now with The internet almost anything goes.

There is a reason they call it programming. The same can be said for most bad habits it’s starts off small and before someone knows it they are boiling in it. Things continously get worse the music the movies and the internet. I believe this is why it is so important to stay in prayer and meditation, because without it, it would be hard not to conform to the world. It’s important to set ourselves a part from the evil of the world, because if we are not, then how will the world see the Light. We are to be a reflection of Jesus, that is the positive life. A positive person is held to a higher standard, because the world is watching waiting for them to slip up. It’s what someone does when they think no one is watching that matters. It also matters when someone messes up, does that person stay down, or do they get back up, and regain their momentum by being positive? Someone should not be the frog in hot water, but instead test the waters, continously pray and seek guidance. I love you all, and will be back soon.

My name is James Carter, and you are visiting breaking bad habits. I believe everyone has habits, good and bad. When I was 34 years old, I woke up and looked in the mirror. I was shocked, I had been drinking every night for so long, that I was fat. I weighed 355 pounds, and ran out of breathe and almost passed out to try and tie my shoes. This was the day I started to wake up. I had a long journey ahead of me, but with prayer, meditation, fasting and exercise I was on my way. It’s been 6 years since then I’ve quit most of my bad habits, and I’m down to below 200 pounds. I have to be honest, that day in 2014 I never dreamed I would have gotten this far. If someone like me can quit, so can you.

  1. I absolutely enjoyed this post for all the right reasons. About five years ago I gave up TV. There are no T.V. s in my house. I started to observe how lazy I was becoming and I begin to rush home aftet work to watch what I thought was my favorite shows. Since i gave up TV I have completed three manuscripts, created. YouTube channel, and this fall my new web site will be released. I read more and sleep better. I do enjoy a sunday evening movie on my portable DVD player.
