The words someone speak matter. When someone speaks they are putting energy out into the world. If thoughts matter, how much more do words? The words someone speak create a ripple affect around them. When I was younger I said a bad word and did not even know my nephew overheard. When he started repeating that word I got in serious trouble. When an adult yells at a child out of anger they can say mean things they don’t really mean to say, also called verbal abuse, which can have very damaging effects to the child. This means it is very important to always try and control the words used. The reason people are born with two ears is because they should listen twice as much as they talk. A wise woman once told me that someone should listen to hear, instead of listen to respond. In order to guard what someone says they should start by guarding their thoughts. If someone can not guard their thoughts and words it’s really easy for them to spiral out of control.
It’s starts in someone’s thoughts. In order to guard ones thoughts. I feel that the very beginning of the day sets the precedence for the whole day. If someone meditates and prays in a positive manner, then they will set their day in the right energy. It’s very important when someone is angry to not lash out and to think before they speak. When someone is angry one strategy I have recently learned is for them to think if something they love, like dogs, cats, or babies. This works because God is love which makes a very the ultimate positive energy to live in. This will help keep someone in positive energy, and may help prevent them from saying something they regret. The other strategy to prevent someone from lashing out when they are angry is to wait before they speak. It’s very common to over exaggerate when someone is upset, so if they wait the may realize it was not such a big deal in the first place. Remember words are powerful and they control someone’s life like a rudder controls the direction of a ship. Keep it positive and positive things are bound to begin to happen.
