Battle of the mind. Renew it.

Someone should think about what they do want, instead of what they don’t want. Our thought do have power over our lives in so many ways. Think of your mind, as if its a home, because it is your home. The mind is the most important organ in your arsenal. It is important to guard our minds, because if the home is not guarded, it is open for Intruders. We are in a constant battle against spiritual darkness, and if we are not constantly in prayer and guarding or mind their is no defense. Life is full of choices, and when someone is to busy to even, think before they act, they may easily finding themselves slipping off the path. The world is full of evil negative things and in order to survive it’s important to renew the mind. Prayer and meditation, are my best strategies for this. It’s important to realize that church is not the solution to do this. Renewing of the mind is more of a personal devotion. I am not coming against church. Church is great, but if someone does not have a personal time to pray and meditate, then they are not having the personal relationship it takes to renew the mind. We have to constantly deny the flesh, because the devil will come to entice anyone that does not have their mind right. The best way to do that is through a personal devotion. Part of breaking bad habits it’s learning to come against the enemy. If someone ignores the enemy, it simply does not go away. It’s important to realize the enemy is not people. The enemy is the thing coming between the person and God. The enemy uses people through sin, but it all starts in the mind.

My name is James Carter, and you are visiting breaking bad habits. I believe everyone has habits, good and bad. When I was 34 years old, I woke up and looked in the mirror. I was shocked, I had been drinking every night for so long, that I was fat. I weighed 355 pounds, and ran out of breathe and almost passed out to try and tie my shoes. This was the day I started to wake up. I had a long journey ahead of me, but with prayer, meditation, fasting and exercise I was on my way. It’s been 6 years since then I’ve quit most of my bad habits, and I’m down to below 200 pounds. I have to be honest, that day in 2014 I never dreamed I would have gotten this far. If someone like me can quit, so can you.

  1. Apt. The weapon of our warfare are not carnal. Our mind/heart is where the struggle happens. No wonder God’s Word says to guard our hearts will all diligence and renew our minds with the Word of God. Since what we are fighting against is not physical, the only way we can combat it is spiritual: Feasting our minds on God’s word, fervency in the place of prayer and constant fellowshipping with the saints.
